Jungle Media adds newly released 35mm prime lens to production shelf

Building on the exceptional results obtained this year using the Canon 50mm F1.2 L Series lens, we decided to add additional flexibility to our production shelf with the purchase of the Canon 35mm F1.4 L Series lens.

The newly released Canon 35mm F1.4 L Mark II

Canon has just released this amazing lens, signified by the “Mark II” designation, replacing the 1998 “pre digital” model with the same field of view. The reviews promise more great imagery when coupled to the C100 Cinema System.

The primary benefit to the customer will be greater choice of shooting locations for indoor interviews, especially when space is tight. With the 50mm on the camera, smaller rooms tend to make the footage look a bit too cramped. Adding the 35 mm option will allow for wider shots while maintaining exceptional optics and that smooth soft focus background that people love. With both lenses in the bag, we can also offer a mix of medium and close shots from the same shoot.

Look for samples of work that will utilize this lens as early as next month.

A key ingredient in the recording process is the use of the clear scan shutter capability in the C100 cinema system. In order to capture the visual effects of strobe lighting on fast moving objects, a synchronized shutter is required to accurately show the effect in video. Post-production is scheduled to begin immediately.

Jungle Media adds 3rd camera to production shelf

Jungle Media has just completed the acquisition of the Canon 7D Mark II camera. While our business is professional video production, often our clients will ask whether they can have high resolution still images from a shoot.

Canon 7D Mark II provides high resolution still and video option

The recent acquisition of the Canon 7D Mark II, serves two purposes. First, it provides additional cinema style video capability to our toolbox. While not as versatile as the C100, the Canon 7D Mark II provides a “second camera” CMOS option for shooting situations when shallow depth of field is desired. Second, it provides 20+ Megapixel still image capability at the shoot location.  This purchase underlines our commitment to providing high resolution, high quality image capture at affordable prices to our customers.
